Introducing Job Now - The Ultimate Drupal Job Board Theme
Now Available! Buy the Drupal Job Now Theme
In an effort to move into the niche theme marketplace, we'd like to announce a new theme concept we're working on right now called the Job Now Theme. This theme is in the first phase of development and we are excited to be building a complete Drupal job board solution using Views and CCK, two of the most popular Drupal modules for custom theming. We are also working on several additional themes solutions for Drupal that should allow anyone to quickly set up and manage their business.
Several of the features of this job board theme will include:
- Payment option for job postings (Paypal, Google checkout, Authorize.net, etc. using Ubercart)
- Featured job placement for premium job listings
- Job date expiration such as 30 days, 90 days, and so on.
- 3 custom colors to choose from (Blue, Gray, and Brown)
- Custom blog (because adding unique content via a blog section is valuable for SEO/traffic)
- Newsletter module
- Ability to post jobs to Twitter automatically after the job is posted.
- Top slider banner option and right column positions for for ad placements
- and more goodies as usual... :)
We think you'll like this theme once we're done building it. Please post your comments below and let us know if there's any questions or if you have any further recommendations we should consider adding to the Job Now Drupal theme. We are still early enough in the development process to add "must-have" features. Thanks!

keep me posted
Please keep me posted on updates....very intresting.
Great!
Your theme looks great! When will it be available?
Hi, a quick update on this Drupal job theme
Hello,
We are finished with the design phase and now have it in the queue to be ported to Drupal starting in the next 5 business days. It usually takes us about two weeks to complete a theme after we start on it.
This job theme for Drupal is a little more interesting because we will be adding a payment gateway option so that the website administrator can set up prices for job listings. So, that means a better looking job posting page with a dropdown for the job type, job section to post the job in, and also a payment option (if one is set up for the site).
Total time to complete should be around the second week of June -- possibly the end of the first week if we don't run into any kinks.
Please sign up for the "Theme News" newsletter if you have not done so already. We will be sending out an email and special discount when we launch this theme.
Thanks!
Jason
Nice work, and it really a
Nice work, and it really a great idea, i have a job portal by drupal (cck and views) in french, i am looking for a theme for the project, i am using in other project (Job Posting) http://drupal.org/project/job_posting
It add an expiration date, and an apply bottom to attach cv for job application directly in the recruter email.
For expiration i am using also Auto expire http://drupal.org/project/auto_expire
I just want to make a suggestion of a module that i use for my new drupal project, (Context) http://drupal.org/project/context
Its good to have every page /section with blocks etc
Looks good
I have subscribed and am eagerly awaiting the release of this.
Thanks Toma, will take note of context module
I will look at adding the context module. Can you tell me specifically the benefit of using it for your job site? I just want to make sure that the usage is beneficial for the majority of users who might purchase the theme.
Thanks!
For my job site i am using
For my job site i am using the job posting module, for context i use it for all my drupal website, no need to use block or block visibility, context its like block management but for pages, url path, node display, content type.
I am using context with my french portal biladi.ma powered by openpublish http://drupal.org/project/openpublish (http://openpublishapp.com/) its a nice example to see how context work
Nice work.
Will this theme have the ability for users to post their resume?
Job Board
Let me know when this is available.
I don't know if anyone use
I don't know if anyone use (Job Posting) http://drupal.org/project/job_posting its allow to apply for a job, attach letter and resume and it sent directly to the recruter email box as message with attach file! for me its great and simple, my little experience with job website is to allow users to attach resume as docs or pdf with cck and filefield.
Why i think job-posting is cool, the apply to post with attach letter and resume, and be sent to the recruter as an email, i hack around the module and remove the field to add country etc, and use taxonomy for city, country.
Jobs Board
Hi,
I really like the look of your jobs board. Will this work with my own theme or can the layout / style be customised to fit my own site? Also, when will this be ready and any idea on cost?
Thanks and regards
Adrian
Hi Adrian, a few notes on the Job board theme for you...
We are porting this to Drupal right now. This theme is a bit more complicated since we are adding Ubercart and will be adding other things to the backend of this theme. Since all of our themes come with profile installations I feel it would be best if you did not try to install this theme over top of another Drupal theme/site. The profile installation sets up the dummy data in our theme demos, so installing any theme on an existing website would not work anyway.
I would suggest adding the theme as a sub-domain or sub-directory if you don't mind maintaining a separate install of Drupal to run the job site. Alternatively, you could install the theme and then export the Views within our theme, install and configure the CCK types to match ours, and install Ubercart and the other modules to match the settings of our job board theme. I'm looking into a customization service to be offered, so we may be able to set something like this up on an existing Drupal website but there are a lot of variables to consider.
As of now the theme will be $99 like our other themes.
Thanks
Jason
jobs module
Hi Jason,
Thanks for the reply. Do you do custom install work? How much would you charge to install and customise to my own site. I would be very interested in this. I dont mind the sub domain route but would prefer it to work within the existing installation.
Thanks and regards
Adrian
Install on existing site
Hi Adrian, We can look at your current installation and see what you have already installed. If you have CCK, Views, and other modules already there that our Job Board theme is using then we would have to layer or add additional settings to your already existing modules -- or even upgrade some on your current site. But, as every existing Drupal website is different, we would need to look at what's there already before giving back a final quote.
I'm also working on putting together a customization service, such that customers can purchase a block of hours for certain services. The larger the block of hours needed, the less the hourly rate would be. We'll be adding this over the next month or so.
Once the job board theme is completed, please look it over and let us know your thoughts after you've previewed it. We can then set up a time to go through your site and give a proper estimate.
Best!
Jason
Multilingual support?
I plan to use the theme in Turkish.
What to do to use in Turkish?
Thanks.
Translations should work fine
Hi,
Translations for this theme should work fine for you. You can also read more about translations modules for specific languages at Drupal: http://drupal.org/project/Translations
Job Board
Hi Jason,
I'm from Brazil and I'm very interested in your Job Board. When will it be available? How many days? Please let me now because I'm doing a project about this feature and I'll buy your job board if it be available before the deadline of my project. Thanks.

Debugging th Job Board theme now
@everyone -- We have completed the porting of this theme design to Drupal. We are working on debugging it now and should be finished around mid-next week.
@maybelin4 -- Please sign up for our newsletter to be notified when we release this theme next week.
@lionEye -- We will be working on a customization package to integrate this theme with other websites. The only issue is that the design will not match any existing websites, so customers need to realize this and we'll need to either a) customize this for customer's existing Drupal site designs, or b) provide a customization outline that they can follow... Really, once porting an entirely new Drupal theme into an existing website, it becomes another beast unto itself and a complete custom project that could go from 5 hours to 20 depending on the existing website's configurations and modules.
Indeed, Trovit, Olx and others job search
Hello Jason,
I think that maybe this job board can export the data in xml format to indeed.com, trovit.com, olx.com and others job search. There are a views module to export data to xml, I think that is a good idea.
Another important features are the option to share the jobs, users can upload your resumés(resumés repository or something like that), linkedin integration, recommend this job and category feeds.
Sorry about my english.
Feature releases for Drupal job board theme/module
Hey Lesley,
Thanks for the comments and suggestions. I think all of those features are good possibilities. However, we'd likely be adding features to this product on an ongoing basis based on user feedback. I think getting the more simplified version out the door and tested, then receiving feedback on the additions agreed upon by users of the theme might help us guide the development additions.
The only problem with people uploading their resumes it that it allow those resumes to be viewed by all or by all members of the site at least. I've heard on other job board sites that do this that the people who have their resume exposed get spammed a lot by marketers who's customer base are people looking for employment. So, we need to build something a little less "exposed" I think. Maybe something like oDesk, where candidates can upload their skill sets, experiences, and so on but hiding their email and phone numbers would be doable. We need to look into this more. We'd also want to keep this theme as simple as possible.
Thanks again for the input though. I'd like to keep the input and dialogue on this theme open.
We are finishing up the Job Board theme in 2 days
Hello,
We are finishing up this theme over the next two business days. Just thought I'd give a heads up to everyone interested.
So is it finished?
Just wondering if you guys have this completed yet? Thanks!

Finishing, but adding one additional feature
Hello all,
We are finished with the theme and while testing it we felt there were several things we did not realize that needed to be added.
1) A job category page with all job categories listed.
2) The front page "Featured Jobs" section needed to have a method to tie into the payment method, such as if a job poster wanted to have their job in the featured position they could pay a slightly higher premium price for that position.
My programmers are wrapping these two things up on Monday and we'll be creating the profile installation afterwards. We were going to release this week but realized that these couple of additions would have been a pain to explain to customers how to add to their purchased copy.
You should see the new theme solution we're working on after this job theme :) More on that after we release this Drupal job theme.
Thanks for your patience!
great theme
This theme is amazing.
Can't wait to try it....but you guys take time :)
this week?
Will it be out this week ?

Auto Resume assignment
Instead of someone attaching the resume, I believe the best way is to have the person sign in as member and create a profile with resume attached. When this member applies her/his profile link should be forwarded to the recruiter who can download the resume from there and look through the other profile info... as well as contact the member through the profile itself.
The MAIN source of power for a job board is the number of resumes it has.. you take that out.. and no one gives you jobs to be posted!! I just find the concept of the new Web 2.0 job boards backwards!!
Auto Resume Assignment Update
Hi Desh,
Thanks for the comments. We're always glad to get feedback if it helps us improve our themes. After reviewing many job boards that were not overly complex we found that many did not have resume profile pages. That's not to say that they are not effective but here's what we found:
Most jobs posted require a unique reply for that specific job. Yes, you could just have the signed in job seeker write up a short "why I think I'm a good fit for this job" type of response and once it's sent the candidates resume is attached to the job submission for the employer as a link, etc. But, in the cases were reviewed, anyone who signs on as an "employer" or job poster opened up the resumes to anyone wanting to spam or contact people without their permission. Plus, you have phone numbers, addresses, and other contact information listed on resumes which opens up more privacy concerns for candidates.
Perhaps you could add more strict permission-based control over the resumes and who can search through or view them, or maybe they're only able to be viewed once the job seeker applies for a specific job. But the logic to built this in wasn't something we wanted to do in a version 1 of the theme.
Personally, I think a version 1 released like it is and then feedback that comes from dozens or more users of the theme is better to substantiate or realize a resume backend. From our review, this type of resume backend is all over the place on other job boards we viewed.
If you can find one or a couple that are extremely simple and don't open up resumes to anyone and everyone, we'd be glad to take a look at how they're integrated.
Thanks.
We have it!

About the job page
Hello,
I was wondering if you would be able to tell me if you can integrate your theme into a exisirting wordpress site? or would you have to start again?
Also is it so that people can put thier job and location and the job and location com up?
also does it take feeds from rss and other widgets to post jobs from other sites?
Thank you
alex
Free Posting?
Hey,
I love your Job Board theme!
I have two questions though. Does it come with a feature where certain people get to post their jobs for free? Or at least a coupon code they can enter so that they don't have to pay or given a certain discount? I'm asking this because I may want to give some clients free posting while the rest will have to pay the price as stipulated by me.
Second question. Does it also have a feature where candidates can post their resumes for prospective employers to search. It's almost like the reverse where candidates post their resumes and employers go hunting for them.
Thanks for this great theme!
Feature List
Hi Jason,
I'm writing a proposal for a prospective client that wishes to have an online job board. Now, this may seem like a total useful-time-killer, but it would help me a great deal if you could post somewhere in your site a complete list of features for Job Now.
This way, I hope to present to my prospect a comprehensive summary of what he can expect from the job board software.
Your input on this will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Alan.

Reg. Job Now
Hey Jason.
Your Jobboard looks simply great, however I have 2 questions.
1. Any latest release with additional features as of today?
2. do you think about posting resumes which would be key feature for any job portal?
Ravi.
Resume module needed
Hi Jason,
This theme is awesome, really. Do you plan to include a resume module so that job finders can post their resumes. This is a key feature as Ravi said.
thanks,
Diaa
Job Seeker profile
I am new to the Drupal community. The JobNow seems to be the perfect starting point for the site I am looking to develop. How difficult would it be to incorporate Job Seeker profile pages, as opposed to a full blown resume ... with photo,DOB, experience, and personal info, etc.. Allowing potential Employers to browse and contact them .
I'm guessing there is some sort of module that will work.
Thanks, Kurt
This is a wonderful theme
This is a wonderful theme clean clear with stylish eye catching design i really love the twitter sidebar widget amazing work. Thanks Jason for sharing this theme.
Jason, I believe Resume
Jason,
I believe Resume module is on public demand, why dont you think of some thing on this line?
Ravi.
Drupal 7

Job Post
Hi Jason,
So far so good with the implementation of my Job Now site. Excellent job! I am in the process of brining up my site, and I would like to initially allow for FREE job postings. What is the cleanest way to turn off payment processing, that when I am ready to process payments I can flip the switch to turn it back on.
Thanks, Kurt
I think it maybe this job
I think it maybe this job board can export data in XML format indeed.com trovit.com, olx.com and other job. An opinion, the module will export data to XML, I think this is a good idea.
When D7 version will be available
Most of new Drupal sites are being developed on D7. If i buy it now, will you provide migration path from D6 to D7 version?
Conversion to Drupal 7
Are there any plans to convert the Job board theme to Drupal 7? If you do let me know and I would buy it instantly.
Resume access payment option
Hi,
Do you have an option for recruiters to pay for resume access?
Tx
Looks Great!
These is the theme I want to buy but change it to Drupal 7 and perhaps put a section for location so that people are able to search for jobs and per their geographical locations like cities and towns.....otherwise, looks great...inform me when you release the D7 version!
Interested as well!
I bought your Drupal 6 theme and I am still in the process of getting it up and running, although I am highly interested in a Drupal 7 theme as well. Integrating some new features like Bena mentioned.
