is it possible to add more of featured block 2 & 3? i have like 10 categories and i want 10 of those blocks displaying for each category. how to do that? thank you.

You can do this by adding to the front page.tpl by adding the proper hooks and you'd also need to add to your template.php file. You'll see the two front page blocks within the template.php file and also the

You'll see that the theme uses custom content types in /admin/content/node-type/story/fields. These are:
Label = imagetheme
Name = field_imagetheme
Type = file
You can see the corresponding PHP hooks in the theme's page.tpl front page file and there's also some theme functions in the template.php file that facilitate in the front page blocks/image display. You'll have to create 2 new additional feature blocks using the same type of variables as the ones already there. It's possible but you'd really need to be familiar with Drupal theming in order to do this.
