Just curious as to why you wouldn't use Views to allow customization of the Featured 1 block?  I have a client who purchased this theme and wants the most popular content to show in Featured 1, not just the newest.  Granted, I've only looked at the theme for a couple hours...  but where's all the customization that Views allows?  Seems like all the feature blocks are hard coded into the page-front.tpl.php file?  Do we have to dig into the PHP of the publisher module to be able to customize anything?   Seems like embedding some views on the home page would be far easier and much more customizable than hard coding them into a module.

Any thoughts, guys?
