I am considering buying this but am wondering . Can you enable commenters to upload Avatars with the publisher theme?

You can add avatars if you wish.

You can add avatars pretty easily with just a few snippets of code. Depending on what you want to use for adding avatars (an outside service that pulls in the avatar) or your own.
