Instructions for Installing the Unite Business Drupal 6.x Theme with Installation Profile

Assumptions

  • You have Drupal friendly hosting: www.drupal.org/requirements
  • You know how to create a database and how to use FTP.
  • You have purchased and downloaded the Business Portfolio Drupal theme package with installation profile.

Theme Setup Instructions

  1. Unzip the Unite Business Drupal theme package (either .tgz or .zip) and upload all of the extracted files to your server via FTP. The extracted package already comes with the latest Drupal core and all of the required modules that are used within this theme.
  2. Create a MySQL database while your files are uploading, if you haven't already done so. Make a note of the complete database name, database username, and database password as you will need it during the first few steps of your theme installation.
  3. Once alll of the files are finished uploading, browse to the website address where you've uploaded the theme files, (this location will look like yoursite.com/ or yoursite.com/mynewtheme/) and select the Unite Business Theme install profile option.
  4. Finally, follow the next few steps to complete the installation process. You'll be asked for the DB name, username, and password but you can also set your site's preferred name/title, and so on, within the initial setup pages for this theme.

Extra Installation Notes:

Note #1: Important!! After your installation profile has successfully set up your website, please go to this administration URL to make sure that your website's contact email address is correct: yoursite.com/admin/settings/site-information. Occasionally, this may need to be changed from the default (from "meatlocalhost [dot] com" or similar) if your profile installation did not change this for you.

You should also double check your user/pass on the main admin user account for your Drupal website, which will be located here for example: sitename.com/user/1/edit. It's always a good idea to simply re-type your password again and click submit just to make sure it's different from the default password set up with the profile installation/database.

Note #2: Drupal modules update often so double check that you have the latest stable module versions or after your initial installation you can check the Drupal's status update module to tell you which modules may have stable version releases that may need to be updated. As noted on the theme details page, we update themes monthly as needed but occasionally we might miss an update for a module.
